Wausau Pilot & Review is an independent, nonprofit newsroom devoted to educating the public about crucial issues in central Wisconsin with a special focus on public policy and quality of life issues. We are currently seeking nonprofit, tax-exempt 501(c)3 status.
Our mission: To dig beneath the surface of issues of public importance, provide insightful analysis and reveal meaningful trends, facts, issues, underlying causes and possible solutions. Wausau Pilot & Review is non-partisan and strives to be balanced, fair, accurate and comprehensive. Our goal is to promote and deepen public and private debate that makes a difference in the lives of those living in central Wisconsin. The site features podcasts as well as written stories. Wausau Pilot & Review adheres to the Society of Professional Journalists’ Code of Ethics.
Our content: We generate original content that is distributed through our website and social media. Topics of particular interest include poverty, the justice system, education, health care, mental health, public spending, the elderly and the underprivileged. We strongly support First Amendment rights and transparency in government and we value and promote the news media’s watchdog role.
