“Just a reminder, keep your pets close and report suspicious activity to the police,” the post reads.

According to the Eau Claire Leader Telegram, police on Feb. 13 found two mutilated cats in a box at a public park. Police believe the cats were intentionally killed. Necropsies were performed locally on both animals.

Then on March 9, police received a second report; this time 21 guinea pig heads were found in another box at the same park.

Officers have canvased the neighborhood and conducted interviews. They also have reached out to pet stores and consulted with the FBI. No arrests have yet been made.
