Members of the Wisconsin Honor Guard Association and several local law enforcement agencies have been working to prepare for Detective Jason Weiland’s funeral services.

According to a prepared statement from the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department:

On Wednesday, funeral services will be held for Detective Jason Weiland of the Everest Metro Police Department. Services will be held at D.C. Everest High School, 6500 Alderson St. in Weston with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. with a service to follow at noon.

A procession from the DC Everest High School to Brainard Funeral Home in Wausau will occur around 1:00 PM. The route of this procession will be as follows:

North on school drive to Jelinek
East on Jelinek to Birch
North on Birch to Schofield Ave
East on Schofield Ave to Sternberg (at Weston Municipal Center)
North/West on Sternberg, past EMPD, to Mesker
South on Mesker to Schofield Ave
West on Schofield Ave to BR 51
North on BR 51 to 6th Street
North on 6th St to Adams (Brainard Funeral Home)

Motorists are asked to pay close attention to this area and to anticipate long traffic delays. If possible please consider an alternate route between 1:00 PM and 2:30 PM. If people would like to observe the procession they are encouraged to come to parking lots and sidewalks along the route.
