Iozzo’s Italian Restaurant, 3115 Camp Phillips Road, announced the closure on Monday on the restaurant’s Facebook page. In a statement to the public, owner Georgiana Iozzo wrote:

“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of Iozzo’s Restaurant, effective March 28, 2017. This announcement is especially hard for us because of how much we value the wonderful relationships we have developed with so many of our long-time guests over the years. It has been a great ride and we have been extremely fortunate to have met so many great loving people over the years. Once again, thank you for everything.”

The restaurant’s founder, Jim Iozzo, opened the restaurant in 1979 in Rib Mountain following a 20-year career in the U.S. Navy. The Iozzo family built a new, 3,500-square-foot restaurant on Camp Phillips Road and moved operations there in 1986. The restaurant sits on an acre of land on the banks of the Eau Claire River.

Jim Iozzo died in March 2015.
