WAUSAU – The University of Wisconsin-Marathon County is now accepting applications for its 35th annual College for Kids Summer Enrichment Program.

This year, 56 classes are offered by the UWMC Office of Continuing education in two separate sessions, from June 12 through June 16 and June 19 through June 23. Classes span a wide range of interests, with rocketry, foreign language/culture, computer design, fishing, digital photography, art and ecology all available this year.

College for Kids is designed for children Kindergarten to 6th grade. Classes run from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. and from 10:15 a.m. to noon. Camp Imagination, a STEAM based enrichment program in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math, designed for children ages 8 to 14, runs from  9 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. These programs are meant as enrichment for any child with the age-appropriate social and educational skills.

Additionally, UWMC will be offering its second annual Girl Power Camp from June 26 to June 30, a day camp designed for team-focused, project based activities introducing young girls ages 8 to 13 to new activities. This year’s theme for Girl Power Camp is “Rock and Roll Edition.” Girls will learn from experts about making and producing a music video.

Then from July 10 to July 14, the UWMC will be celebrating its 10th year with the Wizarding Academy. For students in grades 4 through 9 who love the J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series, this is the camp for you. This year, campers will create their own restaurant vision, a signature recipe, and will possibly perform some cooking and taste- testing for Head of House Judges.
