TOWN OF BERLIN – One person is dead and two people are injured following a rollover crash Thursday at the intersection of Hwy. O and Hwy. F near Athens, according to the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department.
The crash, which involved a car and a pickup, was reported at 3:24 p.m. One person was found dead at the scene, police said.
One person was transported from the scene in a medical helicopter and one person was transported via ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of injuries that did not appear life-threatening, police said.
The Marathon County Sheriff’s Department, along with Fire Departments from the Village of Maine and the City of Wausau. along with Medevac Air responded to the scene, and the Marathon County Crash Reconstruction Team is handling the investigation.
No further details, including the names and ages of the victims, have yet been released.
