TOWN OF BERLIN – The man killed in an April 6 crash near Athens has been identified as 30-year-old Andrew P. Immel of Merrill.

The crash was reported just before 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Hwy. O and Hwy. F in the town of Berlin. According to the police report, Immel was a passenger in a vehcle heading east on Hwy. F when a pickup ran a stop sign at the intersection.

Immel, who was wearing a seat belt, died at the scene, police said.

The driver of the pickup, a 47-year-old man whose name is not being released, was injured but was not transported to the hospital, according to the report.

The driver of the car in which Immel was a passenger, a 26-year-old Merrill woman, was seriously injured and was transported by helicopter to a local hospital. Her name and current condition have not been released.

The crash remains under investigation.
