WAUSAU – The 54-year-old Mosinee man accused of kidnapping and assaulting a woman before hiding her in a wooden box is one step closer to trial, following a hearing Friday in Marathon County Circuit Court.
Allen Jamroz faces charges of kidnapping, second degree sexual assault, false imprisonment and battery. He pleaded not guilty to all charges.
The alleged victim told police Jamroz lured her into his basement, where he attacked her with a homemade stun gun, then placed duct tape around her wrists and knees before forcing her to perform a sex act, according to the complaint.
The victim was at Jamroz’s house to meet up with Jamroz’s granddaughter, police said. The alleged assault happened Dec. 28.
After the assault, Jamroz forced the woman to send a text message to two people telling them she was leaving the area, police said. He then forced her into a box, but she was later able to escape.
Jamroz is being held in the Marathon County Jail on a $30,000 cash bond. He faces more than 80 years in prison and up to $210,000 in fines if he is convicted.
Future court dates have not yet been set.
