Well, that was unsatisfying

By Keith Kubisiak for Wausau Pilot & Review

I was completely onboard the Bucks bandwagon. They Bucks were coming back into national prominence with Giannis Antetokounmpo leading the way. (I love how spell check freaks out every time I type Giannis Antetokounmpo) The only problem was that they had to play catch up and basically ran out of gas Thursday night.

Keith Kubisiak, self-proclaimed sports expert gives his views on everything from basketball to football and everything in between.

After being down 25 points with 5:16 left in the third quarter, at home against Toronto, the Bucks went on a HUGE comeback to actually take the lead 80-78 with 3:16 left in the game. It wasn’t enough, and with the loss the season was over. The Bucks lost the series 4-2. I am now stepping off of the bandwagon until next season. The mixture of young talent and veterans will make for exciting basketball.

The Brewers are winners of three in a row. They are getting ready to take on the Atlanta Braves over the weekend. Eric Thames has continued to kill the ball. With success comes…”RANDOM” DRUG TESTING! Eric seems to be taking it all in stride. I understand the league wanting to make sure that PEDs stay out the game, but three tests in less than two weeks is a bit extreme.

There is a noticeable cloud around Thames’ accomplishments thus far. Ryan Braun flat- out lied and now all players that have offensive success are under suspicion. Brewer fans were lied to by Braun. I don’t want there to be a repeat performance.

The NHL is into their second round of playoffs. In hockey news closer to home, Wausau will have a NA3HL team coming this fall. The Wausau River Wolves will take the ice this fall at Marathon Park.

Who stayed up to watch the Packers first round pick? Yep, me too. It would have been the perfect crescendo to the evening after watching two Badgers, TJ Watt and Ryan Ramczyk, get picked. Only one problem, Ted Thompson traded the pick. I am not going to bust on Ted for this move. He acquired an additional pick by dropping down four spots. The other upside is the Packers will be on the clock when coverage starts with round two. I don’t put it past “Trader Ted” to do some more wheeling and dealing before tonight. I just want and need to see a pass rusher and a running back picked soon! I will then be satisfied.

Keith Kubisiak is a self-proclaimed sports junkie. He will have an opinion with a heavy dose of snark, and hopefully a bit of humor, on everything from local sports to the pros. The author is a huge fan of the Badgers, Packers, and Brewers. Even though he is not a big fan of the NBA, the Bucks are very slowly starting to grow on him (it’s about time.) He played youth hockey for nine years with aspirations to play Division 1 hockey, but lacked two things on his quest: ability and talent, shortcomings which, sadly, are also evident in his golf game.
