Newman Catholic High School on Wednesday held an induction ceremony for 16 students who are now members of the National Honor Society, according to a school news release.

Congratulations to the 2017 Newman Catholic High School National Honor Society Inductees: Ava Bell, Elise Brown, Olivia Dreger, Evita Duffy, Grace Ende, Thomas Ende, Bryce Fox, Kasey Kalafice, Cade Kimball, Mackenzie Krach, Michael Kupczak, Benjamin Leischer, Elliot Samuels, Sarah Sukanen, Isabel VanderWaal, Rylie Vaughn.

National Honor Society is the nation’s oldest and best-known student recognition program and was founded in 1921 by the National Association of Secondary School Principals.

To be chosen for National Honor Society, a student must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.25, and demonstrate excellence in the areas of Leadership, Service, and Character. Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service.
