WAUSAU – The University of Wisconsin-Marathon County (UWMC) will hold its annual commencement ceremony at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9 in the James F. Veninga Theater in the UW Center for Civic Engagement, 625 Stewart Ave., Wausau. More than 70 students earned two-year degrees from UWMC during the 2016-17 academic year, and many of these graduates will be participating in the ceremony.
Greg Lampe, provost and vice chancellor for Academic Affairs for the University of Wisconsin Colleges, will give the commencement address. He has been a UW Colleges administrator since July 2000. Previously, he was an associate professor in the Department of Communication and Theatre Arts at UW-Rock County, Janesville. Lampe began his career with the UW Colleges at UW-Marshfield/Wood County in 1983. Prior to joining the UW Colleges, he taught at UW-La Crosse.
Born in New Rochelle, N.Y., Lampe received his bachelor’s degree from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania, his master’s degree from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, and his doctorate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Brendan Lehman and Chantall Willson will give the student addresses.
A reception for graduates and their families will be held in Sonnentag Hall immediately following the ceremony.
