Phyllis M. Otto, 86, Schofield, died Saturday May 13, 2017 at St. Clare’s Hospital.
She was born February 5, 1931 in Wausau, daughter of the late August Berg and Arlene (Faulks) Berg. On March 22, 1952 she married William Otto in Schofield, WI. He preceded her in death on July 4, 2005.?She was a homemaker and stay at home mom to two children.
She enjoyed putting puzzles together, attending family reunions, cooking, baking and caring for her home and yard. Her faith was am important part of her life and she was involved in the church as a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher. She also enjoyed going out to eat with her family and friends. She loved to travel, especially to Hawaii and made 5 trips there with family and lastly for her daughter’s wedding.
Survivors include her daughter Shirley (Mark) Summers, Schofield, and son, James Otto, Schofield, two grandchildren, Christopher (Amy) Otto, Wausau, and Alex Otto, Illinois, sister, Lois (Donald) Myhre, Chaseburg, WI and 5 nieces and 1 nephew.?Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters and their husbands Dorothy (Harry) Klemke and Donna (James) Kamke.
A memorial service will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 1351 Grand Ave., Schofield on Thursday, May 18, 2017. Arlett A Schmidt
Arlett A. Schmidt, 95, of Rothschild, passed away peacefully in the early hours of May 13, 2017 after a brief illness.
Arlett was a devout wife to her husband Gilbert Schmidt of Rothschild who preceded her in death in 1987. She is the daughter of Fredrick and Erma Hilmershausen of the Town of Stettin and sister to Merlin Hilmershausen of Wausau who all preceded her in death. Arlett was a homemaker who devoted her life to her faith, family and friends. She is survived by her three children: Gerald Schmidt (Jeanette) of Rothschild, Suzanne Schmidt of Weston, and Jayne Robinson of Lodi. She enjoyed her time with her three grandchildren: Jodi Scholl (Jim) of Sparta, Jeffrey Schmidt (Julie) of Rochester, MN, and Adam Robinson (Miranda) of Watertown. She was also blessed with four great grandchildren: Melissa and Brandon Scholl, Alexa and Sydney Schmidt.
Arlett was a life-long and active member of Peace United Church of Christ in Schofield. She routinely participated in church events and activities. She deepened her faith through organizing and leading bible studies and supported charitable causes locally and globally. Pets in need of a home were always welcome as part of the family.Arlett was an avid cook and baker. Her home and kitchen were the gathering place for her family and friends for holidays and often just a meal together, which always began with a prayer. Many of her meals included fruits and vegetables from her garden that she and Gilbert grew every year. Her baking creations were often from a large apple tree or rhubarb grown in the backyard, crafted from recipes in a hand-written cookbook partially in German, and with years of honing and perfecting.
The family is grateful for the care, love and support from Linda and Cathy Fosick and the staff of Cedar Creek Manor, Nancy Schulz and the staff of Chadwick House, and the hospice staff from Ministry Home Care.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 19, 2017 at Peace United Church of Christ, 1524 Grand Avenue, Schofield, WI. Funeral service will follow the visitation. Burial will be at the Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau, WI.

Nadine Blick
Nadine Blick passed away peacefully on May 12, 2017 at her home in Weston under the care of Ministry Health Hospice. ?She was born February 25, 1936 to Frank and Clarissa Sachse in Milwaukee, WI.
On June 21, 1969 she married her soul mate David Blick in Milwaukee, WI. He preceded her in death on December 12, 2009. ?After spending many years in the ICS (International Catholic Society) and traveling to France to attend school at the Sorbonne, she found her calling as a Nurse which was the career she did her entire life.
She started working at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Milwaukee and after her daughter was born, she and David decided to move to the Wausau area. There she spent over thirty years working at Sunnyvale Infirmary, the Health Care Center and Mountview Care Center until her retirement. She loved working with geriatrics and was a truly compassionate and amazing nurse who went above and beyond the usual work ethics. ?She loved doing crossword puzzles (New York Times Sunday edition was easy for her to complete!), cooking, reading, and, most importantly, spending time with her family whether it be for weekly shopping trips with her Sister’s-in-law, Summer vacations with Todd & Sarah, Friday fish fry or just visiting.
Nadine will always be remembered as a true optimist who always saw the positive in life, the good in everyone and was an amazingly kind person whom everyone loved.
She is survived by her daughter Sarah (Todd) De Voy of Aniwa, WI, Granddaughter Hailey De Voy of Merrill and Great Grandson Dylan, of Merrill, who will be born late August 2017. She is also survived by brothers Jim Sachse, Harrison, AR, Bill Sachse, Burlington, WI, Bob (Terry) Sachse, Rubicon, WI and John Sachse, Scottsdale, AZ, Sisters Sister Carol Sachse, Reno, NV and Judy Sheen, Huntley, IL, Sister’s-in-Law Kathy (John) Hughes, Rothschild, WI, Donna (Ray) Delrow, Birnamwood, WI, Brenda Blick Shawano, WI and Kathy Blick, Weston, WI. She is also survived by many Nieces, Nephews and friends.
She recently started growing a close relationship with her Great-Niece Eva Robinson, whom she loving referred to as “Auntie Mouse”. ?Besides her Husband and Parents, she was preceded in death by Brothers Tom Sachse, Dick Sachse, Sister Susie Sachse, Sister’s-in-Law Myrna Sachse and Dorothy Meyers, Brother-in-Law Dick Sheen and Brother’s-in Law Paul Blick and Mike Blick. ?The funeral will be on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 from 10am to 12pm at John J Buettgen Funeral Home Inc. in Schofield, WI. A private burial service will be held for her immediate family members later.

Eleanore Mary Walkowski, 90, 5207 Ross Ave., Schofield passed away on May 10, 2017 at Ministry Saint Clare’s Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on January 16, 1927. She married Ervin Walkowski on Nov. 21, 1949 in Chicago, Ill. She enjoyed polka music, country western music and her many trips to Branson, Missouri and made many friends among the entertainers.?She very much enjoyed her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchild. She was a loving wife, mother and grandma and is loved and will be dearly missed.

Susan Kay Slagoski
Susan K. Slagoski (Sue) went to be with the Lord, on May 8th, at the age of 68. Susan was born in Wausau on June 1, 1948 to the late Melvin and Eleanor Schneck. On September 29, 1973, she married Gerald (Jerry) Slagoski.
Susan was always involved in the church and had a strong faith that kept her positive. Sue was an inspiration to many, with her positive attitude, amazing smile and wonderful laugh. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and friend to all. Sue enjoyed baking, being outside and taking her grandkids shopping or “bumming around”. Sue was an icon in the Wausau area, as she enjoyed being out and about, and was often seen crossing Bridge Street in “Grandma’s Hot Rod”. She will live in the hearts of all who knew her.
Susan is survived by her two children, Amy Schulz (Lyle Kurtzweil Jr.) of Marathon, and Cory (Tara) Slagoski of Merrill, as well as her five grandchildren: Bryce, Blaine, Alexis, Brooke and Marcus; her siblings, Sandra (Dennis) Gorecki, Jim (Chris) Schneck, and Sharon (Jack) Kramer. Sue also leaves behind a beloved nephew, Carl Slagoski, and many other well loved nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jerry.
Funeral services will be Monday, May 15th at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Wausau. Visitation is Monday 2pm – 4pm with services at 4pm. Additional visitation will be at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church on May 14th from 4 – 7pm
Sophia Frances Wald
Sophia Frances Wald, 84, passed to her heavenly home on May 2, 2017 surrounded by her family. Her devotion to her family and firm belief in God supported her and ultimately gave her peace.?Sophia was born to the late Otto and Sophie Tryczak in Three Lakes, WI on October 20, 1932.
She enjoyed helping her parents as a child either by tending bar or helping her father in the sawmill. She married Raymond Wald on May 19, 1951. In her early married life, she worked at the telephone office as a long distance operator for three years. They later moved to the Wausau area and built four houses together. She enjoyed working alongside her husband and they made wood every year, splitting many cords of wood yearly.?In her true giving nature, she cared for her mother for 17 years and for her husband, Ray, for nine years before he passed away in September of 1998. They were married for 47 years.
Besides giving to and caring for her family, she also gave of her time and talents to the church and community. While still living in Kronenwetter, she worked in the church library at Mt. Calvary Church and volunteered for other activities.?After moving to Stevens Point, she was very active in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She was involved in Bible studies, making quilts for Lutheran World Relief and very often offering encouraging words to others. She also volunteered at Plover-Whiting school for seven years, helping out in a kindergarten classroom and then a first grade classroom. This was very fulfilling to her. She gained a lot of enjoyment from the children. ?Some of Sophia’s other favorite pastimes were reading the Bible and other Biblical readings, spending time with family, doing puzzles, writing in her journal every day, making needlepoint Christmas socks for her family and keeping in touch with her sisters by phone.
Sophia is survived by her daughters Mary (Dan) Lidbeck, Niagara, WI, Cathey (Jim) Schorzmann, Lino Lakes, MN, Patty (Dave) Saxe, Oregon, WI, Bobbie (Kevin) Lang, Stevens Point, WI; one brother Otto (Linda) Tryczak, Wausau, WI; and two sisters Mary Gerngrohs, Riviera Beach, FL, and Sylvia Reed, Racine, WI; 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Henry, an infant son, Dennis Rodney, and three brothers, Joseph, Raymond and Frank Tryczak.
A visitation will be held at the John J. Buettgen Funeral home in Schofield on May 6, 2017 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am, with a lunch reception to follow. Tarsilla “Sally” Lampe
Tarsilla “Sally” Lampe, 94, Marathon, passed peacefully Monday May 15, 2017 at Aspirus Hospice House, Wausau.
Sally was born October 1, 1922 in Templeton, Iowa, daughter of the late Henry and Ida (Uhlenkamp) Willenborg. On October 19, 1947, she married Herman Lampe in Manning, Iowa. He preceded her in death August 27, 1974. Sally worked for 25 years at Marathon Cheese Corporation retiring in 1990. An active member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Sally also volunteered at St. Anthony Retreat Center. Among her favorite things to do were crocheting, sewing, puzzles and spending time with her family. She was also an avid reader and gardener.
Survivors include her four loving children, Robert (Kathy) Lampe, Rothschild; Eileen Wiese, Dousman; Karen (Terry) Steiner, Grafton; Daniel (Michelle) Lampe, Marathon; nine grandchildren, Kristin Lampe (Matt Schmitz); Evan Lampe (Hsiao-Pei Yen); Amanda Lampe; Jeremy (Jamie) Wiese; Dana (Patrick) Stinnett; Kyle and Bret Steiner; Michael and Danielle Lampe and 11 great grandchildren, Ty, Brooke, Ninel, Jocelyn, Rylee, Addison, Morgan, Jacob, Carter, Liam and Claire.
Sally is also survived by one brother, Leo (Darlene) Willenborg and three sisters, Bernice Naber, Edna (Ray) Tigges and Elaine Heulshorst and two brothers-in-law, Albert (Margaret) and Marvin Lampe and three sisters-in-law, Norma and Ardella Willenborg and Isabelle Dentlinger.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin and Henry Willenborg; one sister, Jeanette Lampe; brothers-in-law, Clarence and Joseph Lampe, Myron Naber and Gene Heulshorst; sister-in-law, Dorothy Meister and one son-in-law, Chet Wiese.

Mary A. Berna, 72, Wausau, died Friday, May 12, 2017 at Aspirus Hospice House.
She was born December 1, 1944 in Wausau, daughter of the late Edward and Martha (Pionek) Goyette. On September 18, 1965 she married Ronald Berna in Wausau. He survives.
Mary was a homemaker who enjoyed baking, being outdoors and gardening both vegetables and flowers. She was a religious person and above all she loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald, Wausau; son, Scott (Melissa) Berna, Wausau, grandson, Anthony Berna, Wausau; sister, Nancy (Thomas) Gouza, Weston; sister-in-law, Joyce Olson, Wausau and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Edward “Sonny” Goyette II.

Lynn M. Engman
Lynn M. Engman, 44, Wausau died Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the University of Minnesota.
She was born June 15, 1972 in Chicago, daughter of William Bradshaw, Marathon and the late Deborah (Salkowski) Bradshaw. On August 23, 2001, she married Paul Engman in Las Vegas at the Little Chapel of the Flowers. He survives.
Lynn was an insurance agent for Farmers Insurance in Wausau for many years. Lynn also was an instructor at the State College of Beauty Culture. She was an avid knitter and loved her motorcycle, which she named the “Chicago Peach.” She was a devoted wife and mother to her husband and daughter. Lynn was an incredible fighter, no matter what it was, or what it was about, she was ready to stand her ground. Lynn will be missed deeply by her husband, Paul and her daughter, Justine. She had touched so many people’s lives with her kindness and generosity. She will truly be missed by many.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Engman, Wausau, her daughter, Justine Engman, Wausau, her father, William Bradshaw, Marathon, her grandparents, Joanne and William Bradshaw Jr., Maryland, one brother, Jason (Natalie) Bradshaw, Kronenwetter and her mother-in-law, Joanne Engman, Wausau.
Lynn was preceded in death by her grandma Mary, her aunt Barbara, her mother Deborah, and her father-in-law Richard Engman.

Thomas “Tom” W. Kirsch
Thomas “Tom” W. Kirsch, 49, Edgar, died Sunday, May 14, 2017.
He was born June 16, 1967 in Marshfield, the son of Rita Kirsch of Stratford and the late Roland Kirsch. On May 18, 1991, he married Tammy Duvall at the First United Church of Christ, Colby. She survives.
Tom was currently employed at Wausau Window and Wall Systems in Wausau. He was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church, where he was trustee for both the cemetery board and church council. Tom also enjoyed his role as a 4-H Leader, was a member of the Edgar Area Jaycees, a hunter’s safety instructor and the treasurer for the Central Wisconsin Whitetails Unlimited. Among his favorite pastimes, he liked hunting and fishing, bear hunting with Tammy, polka dancing, skiing, playing volleyball and was an avid softball player in his younger years. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially attending his sons many events.
Survivors include, his wife, Tammy; two sons, Tyler and Taylor; his mother, Rita; mother-in-law, Carol Duvall, Colby; Tammy’s grandmother, Zona Edblom, Colby; six siblings, Diane Krcma, Marshfield, Duane (Renee) Kirsch, Stevens Point, Larry (Carol) Kirsch, Stratford, Mary (Patty) Kirsch, Oshkosh, Dennis (Jody) Kirsch, Stratford and Renee (John) Manders, Appleton; his brother-in-law, Don Schultz, Marshfield; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his father, Roland, he was preceded in death by one sister, Annette Schultz; and his father-in-law, Allen Duvall.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Hope Lutheran Church, 4356 State Highway 97, Edgar. Rev. Mark Reiff will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Thomas L. Zyduck
Thomas L. Zyduck, 74, Wausau, died peacefully on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Rennes Health Care Center, Weston.
He was born October 4, 1942 to the late Joseph and Hildegard (Eisner) Zyduck.
After attending St. Therese School he received further education through the Northern Colony in Chippewa Falls.
Among his favorite pastimes Thomas enjoyed jigsaw and word search puzzles and playing cribbage. He also enjoyed listening to country western music and watching classic western movies on TV. Being in the outdoors was important to Thomas and he could often be found taking walks, fishing or just sitting in the sunshine.
Thomas is survived by three brothers; Stanley (Charlotte) Zyduck, Rothschilld, Ronald (Barbara) Zyduck, Weston and Robert Zyduck, Texas and two sisters; Pat (Myron) Golembiewski, Kronenwetter and Mary (Dennis) Evenson, Woodruff and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Beranek.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Wausau. The Rev. Joy Nelson-Jeffers will officiate. James D. Wadinski, Sr.
James D. Wadinski Sr., 84, Wausau died unexpectedly Saturday, May 6, 2017 at his home.
He was born January 19, 1933 in Milwaukee, son of the late Leslie and Helen (Magrecke) Wadinski. On April 30, 1955, he married Mildred Mykleby at St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild. She preceded him in death on July 3, 2012.
For more than 40 years Jim worked at American Can/James River in Wausau, retiring as machine oiler. He served as the Treasurer/President of the Paperworkers Union UPIU Local #224, President of the Marathon County Labor Council and also received the “Citizen of the Year” award in 1985.
Some of his favorite pastimes including, deer hunting, fishing, and spending time up north at the house in Star Lake, especially with the grandchildren. Jim and Mildred purchased the Star Lake homestead in the 1970’s and considered that to be there second home. He also enjoyed cooking and was always providing family and friends with baked goods. He built several homes with family over the years and could repair and make just about anything.
Jim proudly served his country in the United States Army 11th Armor Calvary Division from 1953 until 1955. He said they had the best job in the Army because everyone liked the guys that cooked. He enjoyed meeting with the remaining members of his unit monthly.
Survivors include two sons, James (Carla) Wadinski Jr., Wausau and Michael Wadinski, Wausau, two grandchildren, James (Shannon) Wadinski III and Danielle (Zachery) Hassberg, two great-grandchildren, Lelynd and Charlotte Hassberg, brother-in-law, Andrew Haase, Schofield, sisters-in-laws, Betty Wadinski, Kronenwetter, Phyllis Mykleby, North Carolina and Mary Jane Mykleby, Weston and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and his wife he was preceded in death by siblings, William “Sonny” Wadinski, Leona Haase and Margaret Wadinski.

Randy J. Happli
Randy J. Happli, 64, Wausau, died Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born March 13, 1953 in Wausau, son of the late Kenneth Happli and Margaret (Connor) Herzog. On May 8, 1976 he married Joy Reynolds in Wausau. She survives.
Randy worked for Expera Specialty Solutions the former Mosinee Papers for many years. He enjoyed draft horses, gardening and was a former Boy Scout leader. Above all he loved spending time with his grandchildren and family.
Survivors include his wife, Joy Happli; children, Andrew (Debbie) Happli, Brian (Nakia) Happli and Patricia Happli; grandchildren, David, Markel, Elmer, Gabriel and Jordan Happli; siblings, Sandy (Gary) Utecht, Jean Weisenberger, Robin (Kent) Downing and Denise (Tim) Hardt; step-father, Dennis Herzog; sister-in-law, Jenice Herzog, many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Steve Herzog.
Memorial services will be 4:00 p.m. Monday, May 15, 2017 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau. Visitation will be Monday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services all at the Stewart Avenue funeral home.

Michael J. Bujanowski
Michael J. Bujanowski, 28, entered eternal rest on Thursday May 4, 2017.
He was born October 5, 1988 in Shuman, Bulgaria. His parents are Michael and Arlene (Bergan) Bujanowski, Edgar.
Michael had a big heart in spite of the challenges he experienced in life. He enjoyed music, riding bike, fishing and hiking. McDonald’s and Subway were his favorite places to eat a gourmet meal.
Survivors include his parents, Michael and Arlene , one sister, Kremena Bujanowski, Edgar, his grandparents, Harry and Joan Bujanowski, Wisconsin Rapids, Donna Locey, Arpin along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Michael was preceded in death by his grandfather, Martin Bergan and a step-grandfather, James Locey.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday May 13, 2017 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar. Rev. Joy Nelson-Jeffers will officiate. Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the Edgar funeral home.

Johnathan DeLou Wilson
Johnathan DeLou Wilson, infant son of Matthew Roberts and Elizabeth Wilson of Wausau, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 9, 2017.
He was born February 17, 2017 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Johnathan was a joy and a blessing to his mom and dad, to his Grandma’s and Grandpa’s, and to all who held him. A sweet little treasure who touched our lives forever, a special place in our hearts.
Survivors include, his parents; maternal grandparents, Matthew and Brenda Wilson, Schofield; paternal grandparents, Randy and Melissa Will, Schofield; paternal great-grandmother, Judith Wilson, Antigo; paternal great-grandfather, Victor Rossmanith, Gleason; maternal great-grandfather, Robert Kort, Merrill; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau. Pastor Brad Main will officiate. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. and again on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services all at the funeral home.

Yvonne “Johnie” Mann
Yvonne “Johnie” Mann, 87, of Merrill, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2017 at Bell Tower Residence, Merrill.
She was born in Waupaca on August 23, 1929 to the late Arnold and Lucille (Smith) Johnson. She married William L. Mann on December 22, 1950. He preceded her in death.
Johnie graduated from Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in 1950. She was a former member of the Board of Director’s; Bell Tower, Beta Sigma Phi,
Social Topics, Good Samaritan Hospital Auxiliary, and a member of the P.E.O. Chapter AA.
She enjoyed caring for all kinds of wildlife, traveling, reading and playing cards.
Johnie is survived by her 5 sons, Rick (Ellen), Greg (Patricia), Todd, Kurt (Jill) and Scott (Karen); 14 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Robert (Liz) Johnson.
A funeral service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Our Saviours Lutheran Church, 300 Logan Street, Merrill, WI. Visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. to the hour of services at the church.
The family requests that memorials be made in Johnie’s memory to the Lincoln County Humane Society, T.B. Scott Library or the charity of your choice.

Clarence R. “Bub” Neu, Jr.
Clarence R. “Bub” Neu Jr., 82, of Weston, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Rennes Health and Rehab Center, Weston. He is now resting in the arms of his Lord & Savior.
Bub was born on February 3, 1935 in Cobban, Chippewa County, Wis., to the late Clarence R. and Mary (Koehler) Neu, Sr. He graduated from Superior Senior High before joining the Army National Guard and lived at rural Phillips, Wis. After marriage the family lived in Milwaukee. Ranking as a Sergeant First Class, he left the National Guard, returned to rural Phillips (Emery Twp.) and began working as a Machinist for Blount, Inc. He retired in 1992.
He married Patricia Houdek in 1955 and together they had two daughters. Patricia preceded him in death on January 13, 1991. He then met Edith Carpenter. They fell in love, and became husband and wife on November 11, 2000 at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Schofield, Wisconsin. Bub & Edith traveled via motorhome in USA and flew to England, Panama, Hawaii, and Alaska.
Bub liked the outdoors. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting and fishing. He was a good man and was well liked by anyone who had the opportunity to get to know him. His kindness and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Bub is survived by his wife, Edith Carpenter-Neu of Weston; Daughters, Deborah Heizler of Phillips and Sandra (Robert) Hurst of Florida; step-daughter, Diane Carpenter of Wausau; step-son, Dean Carpenter of Midlothian, VA; a special step-daughter, Libertad “Libby” nee Canton (Scott) Plamann of Kronenwetter; eight grand-children, Heather, Brooke, and Dustin (Susan) Stark, Kelsey Hurst, Adrienne Larson, Kendra Eggebrecht, James Heizler and Hope (Elijah) Weber. He is further survived by five step-grandsons, Sean and Ian Carpenter and Andrew, Zachary, and Karlos Plamann, 11 great-grandchildren and his sister, Emily Reeves of Janesville, WI.
Beside his parents, Bub was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Gaylord Reeves, and his first wife, Patricia nee Houdek Neu.
A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Brainard Funeral Home-Weston Chapel, 5712 Memorial Court, Weston. A visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Town of Emery Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations in Bub’s memory be made to St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1351 Grand Ave, Schofield, WI.
The family would like to thank Aspirus Hospice and Comfort Care as well as the staff at Rennes Health and Rehab Center for their compassion and care for Bub.
Sharon L. Schmidt
If you are reading this, you know that I have moved on. Semi-retirement didn’t go as planned for me. My future plans went through many changes which reformed the remainder of my life. Endometrial Cancer Stage IV the unstoppable poison slowly took my days away. I went through several treatments to fight this monster without success.
My first marriage to Bruce Kleinschmidt ended in 1993 and resulted with two beautiful daughters. My last marriage ended in 2016 in the Most Unforgivable Fashion. Going forward, I moved back to my hometown of Wausau, WI, after 45 years living in the Northwoods. I found myself very content and happy and reconnected with good people. This making the rest of my life pleasant and peaceful. I’m Home!
I was born in Wausau on March 4, 1953 to Donald and Nina (Iwen) Schmidt and made my way to the heavens on Monday, May 8, 2017.
When I was younger, I was part of Burns Post 388 VFW Debon Aires marching drill team, we traveled all over marching in parades. I was the first graduating class of Wausau West High School in 1971. I traveled to many places in the Caribbean and enjoyed the people and their customs.
While raising my daughters, Shannon and Sonya, I was very involved with their school as a room mother. I became a Girl Scout Leader, taught cheerleading and was treasurer on the PTA Board. I also served on the Vacationland Youth Softball League where I eventually became president for 8 years.
My last place of employment was at Ritchie Lakeland Oil Propane in Minocqua, WI. I grew very fond of Joe and Nancy Ritchie. I loved being around all my co-workers. We all were good friends for the rest of my life.
I will especially miss my wonderful daughters, Shannon (Seth) Lancaster, Belleville, WI and Sonya (Jose) Vargas, Altamonte Springs, FL; my mother, Nina Schmidt; my beautiful grandchildren, Paige, Mykenzie, Victoria, Elijah, and Jackson, all of Belleville, and Sorena Vargas of Altamonte Springs. I am also survived by one sister, Cindy Gunderson of Wausau; one niece Lacy Rodemeier of Wausau; one nephew J.R. Gunderson of Rochester, MN; and one great-nephew, Brody of Wausau. My father preceded me in death in 1992.
A very heartfelt thank you to my friends/pallbearers: Bruce Kleinschmidt, Garrison, MT; Doug Plowman, Woodruff, WI; Dennis Hardt, Wausau, WI; Joe Ritchie, Minocqua, WI; Randy Sawyer, Wausau, WI; and Russell Whiting, Merrill, WI. It was truly an honor for me to have all of you.
I cannot forget my doctors that went over and beyond for me; Dr. Arlene Gayle, Dr. Larson, Dr. Rezwan Islam, and Dr. Muhammad Moid. Not to go without mentioning all the kind nurses and receptionists that assisted me.
Finally, it’s been an interesting and challenging life! I’m fortunate that I’ve had loving and caring dependable friends and family around me. So, this is not good bye, but we’ll see you later. After all, “What’s life, if you can’t live it?”
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church, 903 3rd St, Wausau, WI 54403. The Rev. Jerry Morris will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Burial will follow the service at Restlawn Memorial Park. Friends and family are invited to join the celebration for Sharon at 2510 Restaurant afterwards.

Lenore Anna Emma Hickman
Lenore Anna Emma Hickman, 99, of Wausau, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Wausau Manor under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
Lenore was born January 18, 1918, in the Town of Stettin, daughter of the late Edward and Anna Marie (Taege) Fenhaus. She made her home in Wausau all her life and was employed at Marathon Rubber Plant during World War II. In later years she worked in the bakery at Dales Supermarket, where her specialty was decorating cakes. When her son Rod started the Best Bakery on Grand Ave she continued her cake decorating skills.
Lenore enjoyed reading and has read every Danielle Steele book written. She also enjoyed crocheting, making afghans and was the “go to girl” for the families sewing needs.
She is survived by five children; Geri (Lloyd) Wojciechowski, Rod (Bonnie) Fisher, Ken (Mary) Fisher, Ann (Roy) Notz and Debra (Don) Belliveau, 14 grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, Wally Fisher and Alva Hickman, a step son Alva Hickman Jr and four brothers, Wilber, Conrad, Elroy and Melvin.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at Trinity Lutheran Church on Stewart. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Entombment will be at the Restlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Catherine “Katy” Pearl (Schoeder) Falk
Catherine “Katy” Pearl (Schoeder) Falk of Wausau died May 8, 2017 at Primrose Retirement Community under hospice care at the age of 90. She was born September 24, 1926 in the town of Wien, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Andrew and Isabelle (Potter) Schoeder. On October 1, 1949 she married Marshall Falk in Middleton, WI. After being a stay at home mom to two children, she was the administrative assistant at Marathon County Social Services for 20 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Marcia (John) Hoard, a son, Marshall Jr. (Susan) Falk, and four grandchildren, Stephanie, Andrea, and Matthew Falk and Maury Helding. She was preceded in death by her husband.
