A missing 8-year-old Marathon County child has been found safe after a statewide Amber Alert.

An Amber Alert has been issued for a missing 8-year-old boy who police believe is in danger.

Jaiden Hunt was last seen in Knowlton around midnight Saturday morning, according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Jaiden has brown hair and blue eyes and is about 4-feet tall, police said. He was last seen wearing a white tank top and light colored shorts.

Police say Jaiden is possibly with his father, 35-year-old Jamie C. Hunt, who is possibly armed with a machete and is believed to be under the influence of methamphetamine.

Jamie Hunt could be driving a purple Chrysler Town & Country van with the license plate 139 NYU. Mr. Hunt is a white man with brown  hair and brown eyes who weighs about 150 pounds. He has a goatee and has a star tattooed on his left shoulder, police said.

If the suspect is spotted, the public should not approach Jamie Hunt but should call the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department at 715-261-1200.
