The Marathon County Sheriff’s Department and the Special Investigations Unit are currently investigating a suspected methamphetamine overdose death that happened Monday morning in the town of Norrie, according to a news release.

At 8:29 a.m. on Monday, police received a 911 all to respond to the 800 block of County Road Y in the Town of Norrie regarding two people having a medical emergency, according to the release. Police were told that 37-yard-old Lucas A. Groshek and his wife, 33-year-old Carolyn C. Groshek, both of Shawano County, had pulled into the driveway, visibly shaking and convulsing.  They were transported by ambulance to a local hospital.

Lucas was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.  Carolyn is in stable condition at the time of this release.  A large amount of methamphetamine was found in their vehicle. At this point, it is believed they may have overdosed on methamphetamine. An autopsy is scheduled for today.

No other information will be released until the toxicology results are completed.
