Kord Stieber, 29, of Marathon. Felony charges filed June 15 include child abuse.

A 29-year-old Marathon man accused of biting a child and duct taping two children to a chair is facing felony child abuse charges.

In addition to the alleged biting and duct-taping incidents, Kord Stieber is also accused of leaving two children home alone in late November while he drove to get food from a fast food restaurant, according to court documents. The children, age 1 and 5, were allegedly outside with no shoes, waiting by a mailbox, according to a witness statement.

Stieber faces a single felony count of child abuse and two misdemeanor child neglect charges in Marathon County Circuit Court. Those charges were filed on Thursday.

If he is convicted on the felony charge alone, Stieber faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison.
