Mike Potter is not only an accomplished golf instructor, but the University of Wisconsin-Marathon County golf coach can add “author” to his resume.
This spring he finished writing “Forward and Up,” a 122-page self-help paperback with insights that golfers and even non-golfers may appreciate. Potter also works as the golf pro at Merrill Golf Club.
“There are a lot of books about the mechanics of the golf swing but not many written about the mental part of the game and how to sustain a healthy approach,” Potter said. “‘Forward and Up’ addresses many contemporary issues we all face as golfers, including balance, emotions and goal setting.”
Potter has been the UW-Marathon County golf coach since 2012. During this time, his teams have won a Wisconsin Collegiate Conference Championship and thee of his golfers have won individual titles.
“Forward and Up” is available for $10 at Merrill Golf Club. It also can be purchased online through Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
