WAUSAU — A masked man who allegedly robbed a Wausau video store last week has struck again, this time robbing a gas station at gunpoint.

The robbery was reported late Monday at the Fast Break Mobil gas station at 320 W. Thomas Street, police said.

The man entered the business, pointed a gun at the lone employee behind the counter and demanded cash, police said. The employee cooperated with the robber and was not harmed, and no customers were inside the store when the robbery happened. The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Officers searched the area but the robbery suspect was not located.

Police say the suspect is about 5’4? to 5’6? tall, about 180 pounds with a stocky build, raging in age from late teens to mid-30s. The man was wearing a charcoal gray zip-up hooded sweatshirt and gray sweatpants with black low-cut shoes. He also wore a Seattle Seahawks baseball cap and had a bandana tied around his face emblazoned with smiley faces.

The suspect is likely the same man who robbed the Family Video store on Aug. 2, police said.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Wausau Police Detective Jeff Strobach at 715-261-7815.
