Firefighters are at the scene of a house fire that broke out just after 6 p.m. on Wausau’s near east side.
Three cats were rescued from the home. No injuries have been reported.
Smoke billowed from the roof of the two story home, located in the 600 block of 7th Street in downtown Wausau as crews battled the blaze. The fire appears to have started on the second floor of the home.
There’s no word on the cause of the blaze. A fire marashall is headed to the scene.
