TOWN OF CRANMOOR — One man is dead and a woman is injured following a motorcycle crash Saturday on Hwy. 54, police said.
The crash happened about 4:40 p.m. in the town of Cranmoor, east of School Lane in Wood County. A preliminary investigation shows the man driving the motorcycle hit gravel while driving around a curve in the road, police said. He lost control of the motorcycle and crashed into a cranberry marsh. The driver and his passenger were thrown from the bike and were not wearing helmets, according to the Wood County Sheriff’s Department.
The driver died at the scene. The passenger was transported to a local hospital. Police did not specify the severity of her injuries.
