WAUSAU — After scouring the woods and water, police have located a man they say left North Central Health Care on Friday afternoon.
The search began just before 2 p.m. and ended around 3:15 p.m. after the man was found safe. Police say the man ran through the Wausau Downtown Airport and jumped the fence before swimming across the river to Bluegill Bay Park in Rib Mountain.
The man, whose name was not released, was transported to a local hospital to be medically cleared, but did not appear in any distress, police said.
