UPDATE — A 32-year-old Milwaukee man was stabbed while allegedly trying to rob a Stevens Point hotel, police said. 

The man, whose name was not immediately released, is in custody in the Marathon Coubty Jail. He was discovered during a Marathon County traffic stop as a passenger in a vehicle and was treated at a local hospital. 

The attempted robbery happened at about 10:30 p.m. at the Knights Inn in Stevens Point, police said. No money was stolen. 

The driver of the vehicle was arrested on charges unrelated to the burglary, police said. 

TOWN OF WIEN — An Edgar-area traffic stop led to a stabbing investigation after a deputy discovered a passenger in the vehicle bleeding from a stab wound, police said.

Details are sketchy as of midday on Monday, but police said they are working to determine when and where the victim was stabbed. The woman driving the car is being treated as a witness, while an investigation is underway.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment, police said.
