NEWS RELEASE — The Wausau School District Board of Education invites community members to participate in a Superintendent Characteristics Survey to help shape the recruiting and selection process of the Wausau School District’s new superintendent.
The survey is available online.
The specific characteristics include the areas of experience, education, licensure and beliefs. Survey participants will be asked to rate the level of importance for each of these characteristics.
At the end of the survey, there will be an opportunity for participants to add comments and suggestions that the Board of Education should consider when selecting the new Superintendent. The District partnered with School Perceptions, a Wisconsin-based educational research firm with expertise in conducting school surveys, to collect this data. The survey opened today and will close on Sunday, October 1, 2017.
Additionally, the Board of Education is currently seeking proposals from executive search firms to conduct a nationwide search for qualified candidates for the position of Superintendent of Schools in the District. The former Superintendent retired in June 2017 after serving nearly seven years.
The Board of Education named an Interim Superintendent, Dr. Michael Schwei, who will serve in this capacity throughout the 2017-2018 school year. The new Superintendent of Schools will assume the role on July 1, 2018.
