WAUSAU — Marathon County Sheriff Scott Parks announced this week he will run for another term in office.

Parks, who began his career with the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department in December 1979, made the announcement on his public Facebook page. Parks was appointed sheriff in May 2013, shortly after the resignation of former Marathon County Sheriff Randy Hoenisch. He was elected to his first full term Nov. 4, 2014.

“I could never express enough how proud I am of the excellent and professional men and women who make up the sheriff’s office,” Parks wrote. “Each day I reflect on how fortunate I am to lead such an outstanding group of public servants.”

The next election is Nov. 6, 2018.
