After the major success of last year’s first Downtown Wausau Dining Week, one of the most frequent requests from downtown restaurants was to have another Dining Week the very next week. That request was taken to heart and another Dining Week is set for mid-October, according to a Wausau River District news release.
The event will be held Oct. 16 through Oct. 20 and will feature three-course price-fix menus from participating restaurants. Menus will soon be displayed at DowntownWausauDining.com.
Twelve downtown restaurants will be participating in Downtown Wausau Dining Week this fall. Throughout the week, diners will have the opportunity to sample options ranging in price from $7-15 for lunch and $12-35 for dinner, depending on the restaurant. Some restaurants will be creating new menu items for the event and others will be highlighting their customers’ classic favorites.
Participating restaurants include:
- 319 Bistro
- Back When Cafe
- Chatterbox
- City Grill
- La Prima
- J. Gumbo’s
- Jalapenos
- Malarkey’s/Townies
- The Mint
- Polito’s
- The Paisley Mug
- Peking Restaurant
Restaurants will continue serving their regular menus and reservations are not generally required.
Diners are invited to enter a picture of their meal with the hashtag #WausauRiverDistrict on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for a chance to win a gift certificate package to participating restaurants.
Downtown Wausau Dining Week is a time when residents and visitors can try some of the best food Wausau has to offer.
“This week is a great opportunity for people to experience great savings on quality, artisan lunches and dinner prepared by your community, small, locally-owned businesses,” said Rollie Thomas, owner of La Prima.
Mitch Meurette, co-owner of Peking Restaurant said, “You will be truly amazed!”
