The First Universalist Unitarian Church has a new minister this fall, following a three-year interim period.

Rev. Brian J. Mason, who grew up in rural Missouri, was called in May to serve as minister to the downtown Wausau church, according to news release. Rev. Mason first visited Wausau in February and assumed his new role in August.

“I am so grateful to serve this storied congregation that dates back to 1870,” Mason wrote. “It is an honor of a lifetime to serve as a steward of its rich history and heritage.”
