Town of Almon — Multiple departments responded early Sunday to a fire in the town of Almon, according to Shawano County Sheriff’s officials.
The fire broke out around 5 a.m. in a hay barn at the Matsche Farm, Inc., on River Road. The farm is about five miles from Birnamwood.
The barn appears to be a total loss and was engulfed in flames by the time fire crews arrived. No animals or people were inside when the blaze broke out, officials said.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation
