WAUSAU — Two registered sex offenders will soon reach their mandatory release date and will be on supervised release in Wausau, according to the Wausau Police Department.

William H. Craig, 30, was convicted in 2007 of first degree sexual assault of a child, second degree sexual assault of a child and felony bail jumping, according to court records. He was sentenced to six years in prison and will be released Nov. 7.

Craig  is subject to 12 years of extended supervision and could be sent back to prison if he does not follow the rules outlined by his probation agent.

John W. Dick, 35, was convicted in 2005 of second degree sexual assault of a child and was sentenced to 12 years in prison followed by 8 years extended supervision, according to court records. He is due to be released Oct. 24.

Current state law requires sex offenders to be released into the county in which they were convicted.

Upon their release, both men will be monitored by sex offender agent specialists out of the Division of Community Corrections Office based in the Marathon County Courthouse. They will both will be living in transitional housing near the Marathon County Courthouse and will be subject to the Department of Corrections Global Positioning System (GPS).

Craig and Dick will initially be on a highly restricted schedule consisting of time out in the community for work and treatment. Their ongoing addresses and statuses will be updated and available online by accessing the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry at www.widocoffenders.org.
