WAUSAU — Leaders with the village of Weston are requesting temporary electrical inspection services to fill a gap while the village’s own inspector is out on medical leave.

The request calls for both commercial and residential electrical inspection services for a period not to exceed 90 days.

Staff time would be limited to Tuesday mornings and Thursday afternoons at a rate of $70 per hour, with one hour minimum per inspection, according to city documents.

The estimated number of inspections during the proposed time period is 25 inspections. City officials project Weston will pay about $1,800 for those services, which are expected to exceed Wausau’s overall costs.

The Wausau City Council will take up the matter at tonight’s regular meeting.
