NEWS RELEASE — Granite Peak Ski Area is inviting neighbors and the public to attend the Granite Peak Open House to see the latest operational plans for the upcoming ski season, review the current state of the proposed Granite Peak expansion plan that’s being prepared for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and learn about various skiing and snowboarding opportunities.

The event will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 8.

During the Open House, located in the Sundance Chalet, the public can view topical stations and talk with Granite Peak staff and community members. The six stations include the Master Plan amendment, utility and road improvements, snowmaking and hydrology, economic impact, new developments in 2017-18, and opportunities, promotions and weekday specials for local residents.

Vicki Baumann, Granite Peak general manager, mailed a letter of invitation to nearby residents explaining the important upcoming event.

“In 2016 we promised neighbors and the public that we’d hold future informational meetings,” Baumann said. “We anticipate having more of these gatherings as the ski area evolves.”

The public and their guests are encouraged to visit with Granite Peak staff to learn more about the specific topics of interest.

“We’re looking forward to answering questions and informing the public of ongoing improvements, as well as the promotions and events happening at Granite Peak this season,” said project manager Peter Biermeier.
