WAUSAU — A 34-year-old Wausau woman will spend three years in prison after she was convicted on multiple drug charges Tuesday afternoon.
Natasha Eldridge, 34, and James Jones, 30, were arrested in August at a Wausau hotel after witnesses reported seeing an unusual number of people coming and going from the room. The witness also noticed a back door of the hotel had repeatedly been wedged open, police said.
Police searched their room and found about 10 grams of heroin, or enough for about 200 doses, according to the criminal complaint. Investigators also recovered about 1.72 grams of methamphetamine in the search, according to the criminal complaint.
Eldridge appeared Tuesday in Marathon County Circuit Court, where she was sentenced as part of a plea agreement with prosecutors. She now stands convicted of possession of heroin with intent to deliver, and of manufacturing or delivering amphetamine as a repeat offender, court records show.
Circuit Judge Mike Moran also sentenced Eldridge to five years extended supervision following her release from prison and ordered her to undergo drug assessment and treatment. She is also required to repay police $550, “buy” money that was used during the investigation, court records show.
Jones, who remains in the Marathon County Jail on a $5,000 cash bond, is due in court Dec. 13 for a status conference in his case.
