Both the Wausau Police Department and the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department are vying for five grants from a national organization to support their ongoing K9 officer programs.

Visit this link to vote for either department. Ballots can be cast once per day. The voting period ends Nov. 7.

This year, the Aftermath K9 Grant program will award a total of $15,000 in grants to five departments and their existing or prospective K9 programs for maintenance, safety equipment, or officer training. Officers and community members nominate and vote for local departments, and the five departments with the most votes will be awarded grants.

The Aftermath K9 Grant was founded to showcase, support, and reward the unique contributions made by law enforcement and their K9 units across the country.
