WAUSAU — A 24-year-old Stetsonville man accused of child sex crimes connected to a sexual relationship he allegedly had with a 14-year-old child is being held in the Marathon County Jail after being captured in Indiana.

Charges and a body-only arrest warrant were filed in September against Dalton Hochstetler, who had been living in Middlebury, Indiana and working as a welder. He was arrested and extradited to Wisconsin this week.

Hochstetler faces charges of second degree sexual assault of a child and child enticement, among others. The alleged relationship between Hochstetler and the child began in January, court records show.

Circuit Judge Jill Falstad ordered Hochstetler held on a $36,000 cash bond. He is due in court again next week for a review hearing.

Hochstetler faces up to 105 years in prison and up to $300,000 in fines if he is convicted of all the charges against him.
