WAUSAU — A 32-year-old town of Norrie man accused of drug trafficking will avoid prison time if he stays out of trouble for three years.
Alan E. Pearcy was arrested in June as part of a Marathon County Special Investigations Unit operation. On Thursday, Pearcy was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia and obstruction. A charge of maintaining a drug trafficking place was dismissed, and Circuit Judge Greg Huber deferred judgement on a charge of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
That charge will be dismissed entirely if Pearcy follows the rules of his two-year probation.
Police said they removed a four-year-old child from Pearcy’s home during a search in which investigators found about 280 grams of marijuana and other items “consistent with a marijuana grow operation,” according to a news release issued in June.
Judge Huber also ordered Pearcy to maintain full time employment or perform community service, maintain sobriety from drugs, and undergo any treatment his probation agent deems necessary. His case will be reviewed in October 2020.
