PORTAGE COUNTY –Two people were airlifted from the scene of a two-vehicle crash Wednesday that shut down Hwy. 34 for several hours.

The crash was reported at about 10 a.m. Wednesday on Hwy. 34 at the intersection of Trelka Lane, about 10 miles west of Junction City. Traffic was rerouted for more than two hours but the highway has since reopened.

Each vehicle had a single occupant, police said, and both were men. Their names, and the severity of their injuries, has not yet been released to the public.
