The Wausau RiverWolves swept their weekend series after taking on the Evansville Thunderbolts in Marathon Park.

On Saturday, the Wausau RiverWolves captured their second win of the 2017-2018 season.  This win also allowed the RiverWolves to capture the team’s first series sweep in franchise history.

Michael Alfonso grabbed the first goal of the night at the 10:46 mark of the first period.  This was Alfonso’s first goal of the season, which came shorthanded.

Four goals were scored in the second period, three of which came on the powerplay.  Scoring the second period goals were Janne Rukamp, Connor Moore, Tristan Slot and Ron Rentner.

Matt Irwin notched his eighth goal of the season at the 18:13 mark of the third period.  The final goal came at the 18:24 mark by captain Tristan Slot.  In goal for the RiverWolves tonight was Henry Baribeau, stopping 28 of 29 shots faced.

The RiverWolves will continue their homestand next weekend as they host the North Iowa Bulls on Friday, November 24th and Saturday, November 25th at Marathon Park Ice Arena for a pair of 7:00 p.m. puck drops.
