William (Bill) Keith McLay died November 14, 2017, surrounded by his family.

The funeral will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 406 Grant Street, Wausau WI, 54403 on Wednesday, November 29th, at 11:00 a.m. A two hour visitation will be held prior to the 11 o’clock service.

Goldie Larson

Goldie M. Larson, 92, Wausau, passed away on November 14, 2017 at New Perspective Senior Living in West Bend, WI.

She was born February 16, 1925, in Colfax, Wisconsin to the late Anna (Lee) and Thorvald Melgaard. She was baptized and confirmed in the Colfax Lutheran Church. She graduated from Colfax High School. Goldie married Casper Greenhill in 1947, who then passed away on January 3, 1954. She then was employed by the Attorneys office of Slocum, Peterson and Bundy in Menomonie for 5 years. Goldie then married Raymond Larson on November 6, 1960 and together celebrated 49 ½ years of marriage. Goldie then became a bookkeeper at Colfax Farmers Union for 23 years and Secretary at University of Wisconsin Eau Claire for 14 years, retiring on February 16, 1990.

She is survived by daughter, Janet (Edward) Eisberner of Kewaskum; son-in-law, Frederick Tealey; 2 granddaughters Holly Eisberner and Alison Simon, one great grandson, Fernando Simon and one great granddaughter Mayabella Simon. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husbands, and daughter, Jane Tealey.

A funeral service will be held Monday, November 27th at 11:00 am at St Stephen Lutheran Church, 512 McClellan St, Wausau. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of service. A luncheon and burial at Restlawn Memorial Park will follow.

Renee J. Wanta-Meyer

Renee J. Wanta-Meyer, age 46, of Weston passed away Friday, November 17, 2017 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.

The former Renee Jean Wanta was born on September 3, 1971 in Stevens Point to William and Irene (Ploeger) Wanta Sr.  Renee grew up in Galloway and as a young girl her family moved to Tigerton.  She graduated from Tigerton High School in 1989.  Renee was married to Mark Meyer in Shawano and they had two children.  She was employed for close to ten years at Pizza Hut in Clintonville.  Renee also lived in Chicago for a short time and worked at a McDonald’s there.  Over her career, she had waitressed at various local restaurants around the area.  Most recently Renee worked for some time at McDonald’s in Schofield.

Renee enjoyed cooking, being outdoors, and spending time with her nieces and nephews, especially Brayden.  She was always an active person who liked competing in numerous 5K and 10K races.  Renee was a well-known Green Bay Packer fan and she definitely loved her cats over the years.

Survivors include her mother, Irene Wanta of Clintonville, her significant other, Terry Tullberg of Weston, and three children, Dalton, Jasmine, and Austin.  There are six sisters and one brother; Pat (Bob) Laurent, Cheryl (Herbert) Pehlke, Linda Wanta, Mike (Carri) Wanta, Mary Tullberg, Michelle (Ron) Olson, and Julie (special friend Terry Quaintance) Fry.  She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, lots of great friends, and her cat, Monkey.  Renee is preceded in death by her father, a brother William Jr., a brother-in-law Michael Fry, a nephew Alex Wanta, and a great niece Hope Malueg.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 22nd at 12:00 Noon at Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville, with Rev. Richard Vanman officiating.  Friends may call on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial to the family in Renee’s memory.


Myron “Dolly” Raymond Busche

Myron “Dolly” Raymond Busche, 96, Wausau, died Friday November 17, 2017 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Myron was born May 30, 1921 in the Town of Eau Plaine to the late Henry and Mary (Furmanek-Treankler) Busche.  He honorably served his country in the US Navy.  Myron married Virginia Robertson on September 21, 1940 and the happy couple celebrated 70 years together prior to Ginny’s death on October 24, 2010.  The couple was blessed with four children: Rodney, Beverly, Gary and Tim.  Myron worked for 3M for over 41 years supporting his family.

Myron was a good husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  He was well loved by all who knew him.  While Ginny was known as the “Lefsa Queen”, Myron became known as the “Potato Man” for hauling many sacks of potatoes downstairs at church for her.  In his free time, he enjoyed reading, visiting the casino and collecting roosters.  Myron’s favorite pastime was fishing year round, especially ice-fishing during the winter.  Retirement saw Myron and Virginia traveling in their RV seeing America first hand.

Myron is survived by his loving children, Rodney (Patricia) Busche, Roscoe, IL, Beverly (Larry) Cannady, Flat Rock, NC, Gary (Patti), Wausau and Tim (Debbie) Busche, Mazomanie; grandchildren, Connie Cannady (Sam), Randy (Julie) Cannady, Craig Busche, Carrie (Arquimedes) Diaz, Donny Busche, Nicole Busche, Corey Busche and Scott Busche; great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Elaina Sahf and Charles and Henry Diaz and Bailey Busche; and many extended family and friends.  He was preceded in death by 6 brothers and 2 sisters.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Friday, November 24, 2017 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 630 Adams St. Wausau. Reverend Dr. Niveen Sarras will be officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church on Friday.  Entombment will be at Restlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Donald Erdman

Donald R. Erdman, 78, Wausau, died Friday, November 17, at Ascension St. Clare’s Hospital, Weston.

Donald was born November 19, 1938 in Wausau to the late Raymond and Laura (Hans) Erdman. Following his graduation from Wausau East High School, he faithfully served his country in the US Army. Donald married the love of his life, Sally, on March 9, 1963 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church. He served the community as a Deputy with the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department for over 20 years, retiring as a Sergeant. Donald also worked as a security guard for the Wausau Center Mall and Eastbay before completely retiring. Donald sadly said goodbye to Sally after 38 years of marriage in 2001 when she passed away.

Donald was a good family man and enjoyed raising his children. Summers were often spent traveling and camping as a family. He loved spending time outdoors; fishing, hunting and ice fishing. As long as Donald was able, he was very active at his home church of St. Stephen Lutheran Church.

Donald is survived by his children, Kathy (Tim) Rochester and Randy Erdman; grandson, Hunter Rochester; sister, Eunice (Calvin) Chamberlain and extended family and friends.

The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Wausau. Pastor Jennifer Dahle will officiate. Visitation will be from 12:30 PM until the time of service at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery. Leon Ernenputsch

Leon Ernenputsch, 92, Edgar, died Thursday, November 16, 2017 at his home.

Born October 28, 1925 in Edgar, son of the late Henry and Mary (Thurs) Ernenputsch. Leon was raised by his grandmother, Bridgette Thurs and his aunt and uncle, Anthony and Marcella Thurs. He attended Edgar High School and joined the Marines when he was 17 years old. He served from June 19, 1943 to May 27, 1946, serving with Marine Torpedo Bombing Squadron 242 on Guam, Saipan and Tinian. After his military service, Leon had been employed by the Miller Brewing Company in Milwaukee until the time of his retirement. Among his favorite pastimes were hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his daughter, Robin (John McNamara) Tryloff, Downers Grove, Ill., and the cousins he was raised with; Alvina (Ray) Joswiak, Anthony (Janice) Thurs, Marian (James) Warosh, Walter (Judy) Thurs, all of Edgar, Joan Stratton, Philadelphia, Penn. And Art Schallock, Stratford. Besides his parents, aunt and uncle, Anthony and Marcella Thurs, he was preceded in death by cousins, Luella and Gerald Straub and Jean (Thurs) Rasmussen.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday November 21, 2017 at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. Rev. Thomas Huff will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.

Evelyn Stroik

Evelyn Stroik, 94, of Schofield passed away peacefully November 19, 2017 at her home.

She was born to Phillip and Catherine (Grzywacz) on January 31, 1923. On January 10, 1942 she married Stanley Stroik. He preceded her in death on December 11, 1995. She is survived by her sons; Daniel, Wausau, Lawrence (Jan), Ringle, Richard, Hatley, Ronald (Jenny), Wausau, Gary (Julie), Germantown, her daughters; Cheryl (Tony) Raczek, Mosinee, Karen Tekippe, Schofield, Janel (Dick) Dunaj, Mosinee, 18 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild, her sisters; Esther Clairmore, Schofield, Caroline (August) Trezbiatowski , Galloway, Theresa Blarek, Schofield and her brother Jack (Donna) Grzywacz. She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley, son William, brothers; Hubert, Leo and Harry, and her sister Sadie Bushman.

Evelyn was a member of Catholic Daughters of America for many years and was involved in different groups at St. Therese Catholic Church. Praying the rosary everyday was very important to her.

Services will be held at St. Therese Catholic Church 113 W Kort Street, Rothschild on Wednesday, November 22, 2017. Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. until 11:00. At 10:45 lifelong friend Evelyn Staszak will lead the rosary. Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Father Louis Britto will be officiating. Mass of Christian Burial will be at the St. Agnes Cemetery.  John J.
