POLK COUNTY — Police are working to identify human remains found by hunters this week along the St. Croix River, according to the Hudson Star-Observer.

A pair of hunters made the grim discovery early Tuesday, Nov. 21 in Interstate State Park off CTH S. near 113th Avenue.

No identifying information was found at the scene, and police believe the body has been there for quite some time, the newspaper reported.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Department, along with the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office in Anoka County Minn., are coordinating efforts to identify the remains.
