WAUSAU — Tristan Slot, a forward with the Wausau RiverWolves hockey team, has been named central division star of the week by the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL).

The divisional stars of the week designation is a weekly award given to the top performing players in each of the eight divisions of the NA3HL as nominated by their head coaches.

RiverWolves goaltender Henry Baribeau also received honorable mention for the week.

The Wausau RiverWolves got their first wins in the NA3HL this past weekend, and no one was a bigger catalyst for their offense than Tristan Slot, according to team representatives. The Kaukauna, Wisconsin native scored four goals, two in each game, while tacking on five assists. Slot contributed on every single RiverWolves goal on Friday night as the club picked up their first win, a 6-0 shutout over Evansville. Slot now has 12 points on the season and was a plus-7 for the weekend.

“I am extremely elated for Tristan,” said head coach Tim Brownell. “He has been putting in the work on and off the ice and the hard work is paying off. He’s trusting the process and definitely deserves the recognition.”

The RiverWolves host the North Iowa Bulls in a two-game series this weekend at Marathon Park. The puck drops at 7 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday nights.
