UPDATE — The Gogebic County Sheriff’s Department has released the name of a Woodruff woman who was found dead in the area of Rainbow Falls on Wednesday.

She has been identified as 65 year-old Candace Zahn Cain.

The cause of her death remains under investigation.

RAINBOW FALLS, Mich. — Police are investigating the death of a 65-year-old Woodruff woman whose body was discovered Friday in Michigan.

Deputies from the Gogebic County Sheriff’s Department launched a search in Black River Harbor for the woman at 7:30 a.m. and found her car in a parking lot about 30 minutes later, according to a WJFW report. Her body was discovered around 10 a.m. in the area of Rainbow Falls.

The woman, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not yet said how the woman died or what prompted the search.

No additional details were immediately released. An investigation is ongoing.
