WESTON — Students and staff from D.C. Everest Middle School are saying thanks to Everest-area police departments with a gift of homemade pumpkin pies.

The pies were delivered Wednesday to officers with the Everest Metro, Rothschild and Kronenwetter Police Departments. The students also included notes thanking officers for their service.

Teachers at the school donated toward the cost of the pies, which were made from scratch. Trig’s of Weston donated pie ingredients, and Pick N’ Save of Weston donated pie containers.

“We can’t say thank you enough for your support and thoughts over the holidays,” wrote Everest Metro, in a Facebook post. “Serving the public is what all of us here signed up for.”
