BLACK RIVER FALLS — Six children were taken to an emergency room after a Black River Falls school bus tipped over early Wednesday on Hwy. 12, according to the Jackson County Chronicle.

The bus was taking students to school when the bus driver hit the shoulder of the road, then over corrected, according to Black River Falls School Superintendent Shelly Severson. The bus, carrying 17 children, landed on its side.

Several children were treated by EMS on scene. None of the children were seriously injured, the newspaper reports.

The bus driver was also taken to the hospital, as per state protocol, but was not injured.

The Wisconsin State Patrol is investigating the crash.
