MERRILL — A 50-year-old Lac du Flambeau man has been arraigned on three felony charges of incest by a stepparent.
The charges were filed after a months-long investigation into alleged sexual assaults involving two teenage victims. The alleged incidents took place in a home in the Town of Birch both in the summer of 2016 and in the spring of 2017.
Bryan Hoban appeared Thursday in Lincoln County Circuit Court for a preliminary hearing. After hearing testimony, Judge Robert Russell ruled there is enough evidence for the case to move forward.
Hoban, who is free on bond, faces up to 45 years in prison and $150,000 in fines if he is convicted on all three charges.
A scheduling conference is set for Feb. 1.
