After a dominating Friday night win, the Wausau RiverWolves on Saturday were unable to get their offense going, falling 8-1 to the visiting La Crosse Freeze.

Both teams are in the central division, with La Crosse in second place. The RiverWolves are in fifth place.

During Saturday’s game, the lone goal by Wausau came from Matt Irwin at the 8:47 mark in the third period. In goal for the RiverWolves was Henry Baribeau, who was able to stop 40 shots.

The Wausau RiverWolves  continue their homestand Sunday as they take on the Wisconsin Whalers on for a 7 p.m. puck drop at Marathon Park.
