Investigation continues in fatal train crash

OSHKOSH  — Oshkosh police have released the names of two women killed when their car collided with a train last week.

Authorities on Tuesday identified the victims as 37-year-old Emily Mueller and 43-year-old Jessica Roby.

Both women were from Oshkosh.

“The Oshkosh Police Department and The Winnebago County Coroner’s Office expresses sincere condolences to the family and friends of Emily and Jessica,” reads a statement from Oshkosh Police.

The collision happened at about 11:20 p.m. Dec. 22, at Washington Avenue and Broad Street, on the east side of Oshkosh.

Mueller and Roby were pronounced dead at the scene, and a third person was taken to a hospital for treatment. The name of the injured person has not been publicly released.

The crash remains under investigation. Possible witnesses or those with information are urged to call police at 920-236-5700.
