WAUSAU — A 26-year-old Rib Mountain man is accused of pointing a loaded pistol at a neighbor and threatening to shoot the woman and her son, according to court documents.
James Justin Mack Farrar allegedly pointed a .40-caliber pistol at the woman’s head and said he “had a bullet” for the victim’s son, court documents state.
Police were called on Dec. 26 to an apartment complex in Rib Mountain by a 61-year-old woman who said Farrar came to her door after she asked him to be quiet. The woman told police she could hear Farrar yelling through a shared wall of the apartment.
Farrar then began banging on the woman’s door, demanding she open up. When she complied, Farrar raised a pistol and made the threats, according to the report. The victim slammed the door shut and called 911.
Police seized a Walther PPX pistol and two magazines of ammunition from Farrar, then took him to the hospital for a chemical test of his blood.
Farrar appeared Wednesday in Marathon County Circuit Court, facing charges of second degree recklessly endangering safety, operating a firearm while intoxicated, disorderly conduct and bail jumping. Circuit Judge Mike Moran ordered Farrar held on a $5,000 bond with the first $1,000 to be paid in cash. He remains jailed as of Saturday, according to online jail records.
A review hearing is set for Jan. 5.
