WAUSAU — Police are investigating a fire at a shed on Wausau East High School property that has been the site of repeated vandalism in recent weeks.

Police were notified at about 6 a.m. Wednesday that the building had been burned down overnight. The shed, on Coates Lane near the school’s baseball field, was used as a storage facility and housed athletic equipment for the school.

Police and fire officials have stopped short of calling the blaze suspicious, but say an investigation is underway. School and police officials have already been investigating three separate vandalism incidents at the same shed in recent weeks, in which the shed was spray painted with graffiti.
