WAUSAU — Members of the city’s economic development committee on Tuesday voted to approve the sale of four remnant parcels of land along the newly reconstructed portion of Thomas Street.
An additional 24 parcels remain up for grabs, as the city extended its request for proposals to redevelop those properties until June 1. The original RFP required interested buyers to submit proposals by Feb. 2.
Two of the four parcels, land on the corner of S. 11th Avenue and Thomas Street, will be sold to a resident who wishes to expand his yard. Those two lots, a combined 10,600 square feet, will be sold for $2,100.
The other two lots, a combined 11,651 square-foot parcel on the northeast corner of N. 9th Avenue and Thomas Street, will be sold for $10,000 and will be the site of a new State Farm office. The newly constructed building is expected to be valued at around $400,000 after completion.
