MOSINEE, Wis. – Get your fill of some comedy Friday night at the Creske Center in Mosinee, and help out a good cause.

Community Center of Hope in Mosinee will be hosting a night of fun with the Fish Sticks Improv Troupe. Executive Director Amy Bergstrom says this was a unique chance for the food pantry to raise money while moving away from the usual sorts of events.

“We’d done an Empty Bowls sort of fundraiser, and we just found that there were a lot of organizations doing something similar,” Bergstrom said.

She says they were looking to branch out and find some family friendly sort of event, and picked out Fish Sticks.

People who have been to a ComedySportz event or watched Whose Line Is It Anyway will know how the program works, but Bergstrom says it’s always fun to be part of an improv show yourself.

“They’re going to bring four people, and they’ll be taking suggestions and volunteers from the audience and they’ll be making up their comedy on the spot.”

She says it’s that sort of participation that really makes these sorts events fun, and that families are going to really enjoy their evening together.

The fundraiser will directly support Community Center, which helps out hungry families in southern Marathon County.

“We serve the Everest Area and Mosinee and Marathon and Edgar, basically, if it’s south of Wausau, we’re helping them out.”

The show kicks off Friday night at 6:30 PM at the Creske Center in Mosinee. Tickets at the door are $12 for adults and $6 for children 12 and under. There’s also a dinner at the High School Cafeteria before hand for $5.
