WAUSAU — After a months-long investigation, a 49-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of his 15-year-old son, police said Tuesday.

According to the Wausau Police Department, Robert Glazner is expected to be charged Wednesday with second degree reckless homicide in connection with the death of Bryden Glazner. Robert Glazner was arrested Tuesday in Sheboygan.

According to the news release:

Police were called Aug. 4 to the 900 block of Parcher Street in Wausau for a report of an unresponsive 15-year-old male, later identified as Bryden Glazner, who had been staying with his father. The teen was dead when crews arrived.

Police say autopsy and toxicology results show the boy died from a lack of proper care of his diabetic condition.

Over the course of the next several months, assisted by the Marathon County Medical Examiner’s Office, investigators found probable cause to believe that while Bryden was in the custody of his father Robert, the lack of involvement by Robert in the management of his son’s diabetic condition led to Bryden’s death.

Bryden was a student at Mosinee High School.

Details supporting the charge will become available in the criminal complaint filed Wednesday by the Marathon County District Attorney’s Office, police said.

Robert Glazner is being held in the Marathon County Jail and is due in court Tuesday for an initial appearance.  Official charges have not yet been filed.
