LAND O LAKES — One person is dead after a snowmobile crashed into a tree Monday in Vilas County, sheriff’s officials have confirmed.
The crash, near the Wisconsin-Michigan state line was reported just after 8 p.m., police said. The snowmobile driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The name, age, and gender of the driver have not yet been released. Police expect to issue additional information late Tuesday.
